So… what happens on SPLAT?
SPLAT trips have spanned 24 states. Our student-adventurers have hiked national forests, explored D.C. by train, climbed mountains, swam through canyons, ridden horses across the desert, parasailed in the open ocean, and spent a LOT of time singing in vans. They’ve made friends speaking 12+ languages, thrown community barbecues and carnivals, preached Sunday services and revival meetings, led sport and drama camps, responded to natural disasters, and loved hundreds of sweet kiddos across the country.
We believe stretching our comfort zones to do new things - often hard things - prepares us for the adventure ahead and offers a glimpse into the wild that is life with Christ. Through the mystery destination of our road trips, we explore the idea that, like Abraham, we usually don’t get to see God’s full plan. Instead, we’re asked to trust Him and be obedient in each step he reveals in His unfolding story for us. This journey isn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s so worth taking the challenge.
